Receive & identify
We match the item to its submission, record its details and establish the appropriate brand and category checks.
Our Authenticity Promise
Every item sold by Luxury Reborn is physically assessed before listing and backed by our authenticity guarantee. Where a third party authentication service completes authentication, the exact product page identifies the recorded service and Inclusions states whether a certificate of authenticity or verification record is supplied.
How We Authenticate
Authentication is not based on a receipt, one serial number or one photograph. We consider the whole item and use additional specialist evidence where it adds value.
We match the item to its submission, record its details and establish the appropriate brand and category checks.
Our in-house review considers construction, materials, markings, workmanship and consistency across the complete item.
An item may be referred to a suitable third party authentication service where its brand, category and evidence are supported. When that service completes authentication, the exact listing identifies the recorded service.
Only items accepted through our process are listed. Relevant condition, inclusions and verification details are recorded separately.

Category-Specific Assessment
Our pre-owned luxury authentication process changes with the item. A designer handbag, luxury watch and fine-jewellery piece do not share one universal checklist.
In-House & Specialist Review
We select the authentication service to suit the item’s brand, category and available evidence. These independent specialists support our assessment where their service is appropriate.
Entrupy compares highly magnified images of supported bags and leather goods with its reference database. Images are captured through its app, and items verified as authentic can receive an Entrupy Certificate of Authenticity.
Specialising in Chanel handbags and small leather goods, Zekos Authentication provides an expert opinion based on detailed item photographs. Its services include a digital authentication certificate and a separate, more detailed analysis of the item.
This Australian service uses specialists with expertise in particular luxury brands to review detailed item photographs. Electronic or physical certificates are available, depending on the service arranged for the item.
For your exact item: Check the product page for the recorded authentication service and Inclusions for the certificate or verification record supplied. An item is not necessarily assessed by all three providers.
Important: Luxury Reborn’s in-house assessment is part of our buy, consignment and retail workflow. We do not provide standalone authentication services or issue our own certificate of authenticity.
Watch and jewellery timing: These items may require specialist physical authentication or testing before acceptance, listing or an Instant Payout can be confirmed. We provide an estimated timeframe after receipt and initial inspection. Complex, vintage, higher value or inconclusive pieces may take longer.
For Seller Submissions
The standard fee for an item assessed non-authentic is AUD $150 including GST. The fee is AUD $250 including GST for all watches and selected Hermès items. It includes assessment, administration and standard domestic return delivery with tracking, for which a signature is requested. Optional return shipping cover is extra. The exact applicable fee is confirmed in writing before shipment.
Assessment costs are waived when the item proceeds through the agreed Instant Payout or Consignment pathway.
The confirmed AUD $150 or AUD $250 fee applies. It includes assessment, administration and standard domestic return delivery with tracking, for which a signature is requested. Optional return shipping cover is extra.
No fee applies where the result is inconclusive, or where an accurately submitted item is declined only because Luxury Reborn chooses not to proceed. Luxury Reborn contributes the actual standard domestic return cost up to AUD $40; this is not a credit. The seller pays any excess and selected return shipping cover.
Once the seller has shipped the item and Luxury Reborn has received and physically inspected it, Luxury Reborn compares the item with the submitted description, photographs and other information. If important item information is inaccurate or omitted, including repairs, repainting, restoration or replacement parts, Luxury Reborn may issue an updated quote. The AUD $25 administration fee plus actual Luxury Reborn-paid inbound delivery, actual return delivery and selected return shipping cover applies only if the seller rejects the updated quote or Luxury Reborn does not proceed because of the inaccurate or omitted information. If the seller withdraws for another reason, actual return delivery and selected return shipping cover apply.
One narrow review: A seller may request one review within seven calendar days of the written result for a clear administrative error or genuinely new, credible, item-specific evidence concerning the exact unchanged item. An assessment concerns the item, not the seller’s intent, and an item is not automatically confiscated or destroyed.
Buyer Protection
If you have an authenticity concern, contact us promptly. Reporting a concern begins an assessment and does not by itself establish the outcome. We match the returned item to its listing, reassess it and select an appropriate specialist pathway where reasonably required. If the returned item is confirmed not authentic through a reasonable assessment, you may choose a full refund. Luxury Reborn will return all money paid for the item through the original payment method, where available, or another agreed monetary method, and reimburse reasonable return delivery costs. No change of mind charge or deduction applies. You may also have other legal rights, including a replacement where reasonably available.
The authenticity guarantee is separate from our seven-calendar-day change of mind request window. See the Terms and Conditions for the complete policy.
Documents & Inclusions
Original receipts, boxes, dust bags, straps, cards and service records may support provenance, completeness, buyer confidence and market value. They are not proof of authenticity by themselves. The exact product listing states what is supplied with the item.
Luxury Reborn case example: A Louis Vuitton scarf arrived with an invoice but without its tag. Two authentication services declined or were unable to complete authentication without that item-level evidence. The invoice supported the purchase history, but it could not replace the missing tag. Because the available authentication services could not provide a certificate of authenticity or otherwise reach the reliable conclusion Luxury Reborn needed for that scarf, we did not accept or list it and returned it to the seller. A refusal or inability to assess is not, by itself, a finding that the scarf is counterfeit; the exact service result must be retained and described accurately.
Buyer Questions
Every item is physically assessed by Luxury Reborn after it arrives. We review brand-specific construction, materials, workmanship, markings, codes and other relevant details. Where a third party authentication service completes authentication, the exact product page identifies the recorded service. A certificate of authenticity or verification record is supplied only when Inclusions lists it.
Our process begins with Luxury Reborn’s assessment and may also use an appropriate third party authentication service. The authentication services we usually use include Entrupy, Zekos Authentication and Luxury Authentication Australia. Each service has its own supported brands, categories and evidence requirements, so no service should be assumed for an item unless the exact product page records it. Any certificate of authenticity or verification record supplied is identified separately in Inclusions.
No. Every item is assessed by Luxury Reborn, but review by a third party authentication service depends on the item’s category, era, construction, material, identifiers and available evidence. Where a service completes authentication, the exact product page identifies the recorded service and Inclusions states whether a certificate of authenticity or verification record is supplied.
Luxury Reborn selects a service that supports the particular brand, model and evidence needed. Some services assess supported handbags and leather goods from detailed images, while watches, jewellery, exotic materials or unusual pieces may require a different physical or specialist pathway.
No. Every item is assessed by Luxury Reborn before listing. Where a third party authentication service completes authentication, the Authenticity Guarantee panel identifies the recorded service. Inclusions confirms whether a certificate of authenticity or verification record is supplied with the exact item.
Checks may include overall construction, stitching, edge finishing, materials, lining, hardware, engravings, logos, codes or identifiers, measurements, symmetry, workmanship and signs of alteration or restoration.
Assessment may include the case, dial, hands, crystal, crown, movement information where available, bracelet, clasp, engravings, reference details, serial information and signs of replacement, modification or servicing.
Assessment may include metal quality, hallmarks, maker’s marks, serial or reference details, construction, weight, stone settings, clasps, engravings, repairs, resizing and brand-specific proportions.
Yes. Watches and jewellery may require specialist physical authentication or testing before Luxury Reborn can confirm acceptance, approve an Instant Payout or publish a listing. Timing depends on the item, its documentation and whether movement inspection, gemstone analysis or precious metal testing is needed. We will provide an estimated timeframe after the item is received and initially inspected. Complex, vintage, higher value or inconclusive pieces may take longer. If authenticity cannot be established to our satisfaction, the item may be declined or referred for further assessment.
No. A receipt is not required for Luxury Reborn to assess an item. Receipts, boxes, cards and service records can support provenance, completeness, buyer confidence and market value, but they are not proof of authenticity by themselves and cannot replace missing item-level evidence. An authentication service may be unable or unwilling to conclude when a required tag, marking, component or other examination point is absent.
It will not be listed as authentic and no certificate of authenticity will be represented. An unable-to-verify or inconclusive result is not the same as an assessed non-authentic result, and no fee applies. For a return within Australia, Luxury Reborn contributes the actual standard return cost up to AUD $40; this is not a credit. The seller pays any excess and selected shipping cover. A New Zealand seller pays the actual return delivery to New Zealand, selected shipping cover and applicable customs or duties.
Repairs, alterations, repainting, other colour restoration and replacement parts must be disclosed in the quote form before an item is sent to us. Brand authorised repairs and minor third party work, including small areas of repainting, may be considered case by case following review. We may decline an item based on the submitted details or photographs before it is sent to us, with no charge to the seller. We generally cannot accept extensive repainting, structural alterations, concealed damage or non-brand replacement parts that change component originality, fall outside an authentication service’s requirements or prevent a specialist from reaching a reliable conclusion. Once the seller has shipped the item and Luxury Reborn has received and physically inspected it, Luxury Reborn compares the item with the submitted description, photographs and other information. If important item information is inaccurate or omitted, Luxury Reborn may issue an updated quote. If the seller accepts it and the item proceeds, no AUD $25 administration fee applies. If the seller rejects it, or Luxury Reborn decides not to proceed because of the inaccurate or omitted information, the seller is charged the AUD $25 administration fee, any actual inbound delivery paid by Luxury Reborn, actual return delivery and any selected return shipping cover. If an item is invited for physical assessment, final acceptance and value remain subject to inspection, authentication and confirmation that it matches the submission.
For the lowest resale and authentication risk, avoid repainting, recolouring or replacing original components before an item-specific assessment where practical. Such work can change original materials or remove details needed for examination. Different services may note the repair, give a qualified or inconclusive result, decline assessment or reach a non-authentic finding, so preserve the exact written outcome. The work alone does not determine the underlying item’s authenticity. If Luxury Reborn cannot establish authenticity to our required standard, we cannot accept the item for sale.
No. Our in-house assessment is part of our buying, consignment and retail process. We do not offer standalone authentication or issue Luxury Reborn certificates to the public.
Items sold by Luxury Reborn are backed by our Authenticity Guarantee. If a returned item is confirmed not authentic through a reasonable assessment, you may choose a full refund. Luxury Reborn will return all money paid for the item through the original payment method, where available, or another agreed monetary method, and reimburse reasonable return delivery costs. No change of mind charge or deduction applies. You may also have other legal rights, including a replacement where reasonably available. Reporting a concern begins the assessment and does not by itself establish the outcome. See the Terms and Conditions for the complete policy.
Contact Luxury Reborn promptly with your order number, the reason for concern and clear supporting photographs or evidence. Do not alter or send the item to an unrelated party before receiving return instructions.
Luxury Reborn selects the appropriate assessment pathway and specialist where required. This helps ensure the returned item is matched to the original listing and reviewed using evidence suitable for its brand and category.
Vintage luxury can require era-specific knowledge because markings, construction and identifiers change over time. We assess the item in the context of its period and may use specialist review where the piece requires additional expertise.
